Does the color penetrate the wood completely?
Yes! The color goes through our entire block. Nicholas has spent the past 40 years perfecting his techniques to achieve fully impregnated blocks of wood. The colors and durability go beyond the surface and extend throughout the entire block unlike most stabilization methods.
Should I apply a finish to your product?
Yes. We recommend using a sealer or finish that you are already comfortable with. Our woods are compatible with most finishes. Always test a small area first.
Is it waterproof?
No, this product still contains its wood fiber and this allows moisture to move into and through any unsealed area of the material. We stress using a seal or finish on your work of art.
What is the best way to cut or sculpt your product?
This product is no different than working with any other extremely hard material. We stress using the sharpest tool possible, whether that be a saw blade or hand tool. Abrasives such as sandpaper or diamond bits can be used for sculpting. We recommend using a series of finer grits to achieve the desired finish. Up to and past 1000 grit.
